About Us
We’re a small family business based in South Jordan, Utah — and craftsmanship is at the center of everything we do.
For more than 25 years, we’ve worked in design, renovation, and custom building. Over time, we saw a consistent problem: beautiful flooring projects often ended with unattractive, mismatched stair nosing and bulky trim pieces.
We knew there had to be a better way.
Why Salty Custom Vinyl Exists
We started shaping vinyl plank flooring into custom stair treads and nosings because the industry alternatives simply didn’t match the quality of the floors they were paired with.
Our goal was simple: create stair solutions that look intentional, perform reliably, and preserve the structural integrity of the flooring material.
What began as a better solution for our own projects grew into Salty Custom Vinyl.
Built With Experience & Precision
Every tread we fabricate is shaped from genuine flooring planks using a controlled process developed through years of hands-on experience.
We don’t cut corners. We don’t improvise on-site. We fabricate in a controlled environment so your stair transition looks seamless and performs long-term.
We’ve streamlined the process to make ordering simple. In most cases, you don’t even need to ship material to us — we can source it directly and provide free U.S. shipping.
A Family Business You Can Trust
We care deeply about people and relationships. That mindset shapes how we communicate, how we build, and how we stand behind our work.
When you place an order with us, you’re not dealing with a mass-production facility. You’re working directly with a family-run business that values quality, transparency, and doing the job right.
Outside the shop, our family enjoys time together — whether that’s games at the kitchen table, family room movies, or exploring the outdoors. As Jack Johnson sings, “It’s always better when we’re together.”
Let’s Build Something That Lasts
If you’re investing in flooring for your home, your stair transition deserves the same level of attention and durability.
