Handling and Installation Notes
- IMPORTANT: Your stair treads are securely wrapped in stretch film to protect the nosing during transit. Please do not pull or peel the wrap — doing so can cause the tread to flex or crack. Instead, carefully cut the wrap using scissors or blade. This ensures the tread remains intact and undamaged.
- Ensure your stairs are a solid foundation for your floor plank tread covers. Any and all vinyl tread covers will fail on spongy stairs.
- BE AWARE – Once your tread covers are properly installed and the glue has cured, they are solid. Before that time, you must HANDLE THEM WITH CARE. DO NOT STRESS BENDS. Properly support nosing when marking and cutting. DO NOT EXPOSE OR STORE MATERIALS WHERE THEY CAN COME IN CONTACT WITH EXTREME TEMPERATURES, such as sunlight or in a space without temperature controls such as an attic or outbuilding.
- Watch the Recommended Tools and Materials video.
- It is highly recommended to join all nosing and plank with CA GLUE before any templating or cutting. Working with a Full Tread Cover is key to a straightforward and simple installation.
- If installing a riser, it is recommended to install all tread covers first and then install all risers after glue has had a chance to set up a bit. (12-48 hrs)

A “3rd Hand” can be used to slightly flex the stairwell walls/skirt board, which can
reduce the chance of binding and aid in tread cover placement.
Prep underside pad with stiff wire brush to increase adhesive/glue bond.
