Vinyl & LVP Stair Treads and Nosing
This page explains your options for vinyl and LVP stair treads and nosing, whether you’re interested in an off-the-shelf solution or a custom build using real flooring.
Off-the-Shelf Stair Treads
If your flooring matches one of our available options, our off-the-shelf stair treads are ready to order and ship. These are complete, one-piece stair treads made from real flooring material — not hollow stair kits or overlays.

Custom Stair Treads & Components
Both off-the-shelf and custom stair treads are built from real flooring material. The custom process allows us to work from flooring outside our off-the-shelf selection and to produce additional components such as nosing-only pieces, landings, and other transitional elements when needed.
Stair Nosing Profiles
Our stair treads are constructed by fusing the flooring plank and nosing into one continuous, flush tread. We offer square and round nosing profiles depending on the look you prefer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are your stair treads solid wood or a single block?
No. Each stair tread is built by fusing the flooring plank and matching nosing together into a single, flush tread. This preserves the original texture and appearance of the flooring and avoids the look of a solid wood block or stair overlay system.
What’s the difference between off-the-shelf and custom stair treads?
Both off-the-shelf and custom stair treads are built from real flooring material, not imitation stair kits.
Off-the-shelf stair treads are available in select flooring brands and colors and include complete, ready-to-install stair treads.

Do off-the-shelf stair treads include nosing?
Yes. Each off-the-shelf stair tread includes the nosing and plank fused together into a single, flush tread.

What stair tread profiles do you offer?
We offer square and round nosing profiles. All stair treads are built as flush, one-piece assemblies with the plank and nosing fused together.
Why do some vinyl stair treads look different from the flooring, even when made from the same material?
In many cases, the difference isn’t color — it’s surface texture and sheen.
Some stair tread manufacturing methods rely on heat-press forming to shape the tread and nosing. While this evenly distributes heat, it can soften or flatten the embossed-in-register (EIR) texture that gives flooring its realistic grain.
When that texture is altered, stair treads may appear smoother or more plastic-looking than the surrounding floor. Our process fuses the plank and nosing without press-forming that compresses the surface, preserving the original embossing and finish so the stairs blend naturally with the floor.
Do your stair treads require assembly or stair kits?
No. Our stair treads are shipped as single-piece units with the plank and nosing already fused together. They arrive ready to install and do not require stair kits, overlays, or on-site assembly.
