Vinyl Stair Tread (Nosing + Plank = Full Tread Cover)

Select this option if you would like to receive your Nosing pre-attached to a Back Plank to make a full stair tread.  This will provide you with a ready to template and cut (full) tread cover (cut back and sides to size).

This option is highly recommended if you or your installer are uncomfortable working with the deflection design of our unique durable Nosing.  Each custom nosing is shaped with a slight horizontal deflection.  This design adds strength, durability and longevity to the traffic zone of your stairs and can cause a need for additional required steps when joining the Nosing and Plank (depending on plank type). 

IMPORTANT:   It is recommended that all treads (nosing + plank) are joined before any templating or cutting.  It is important that the inside vertical surface of the nosing is snug to the mounting structure face (mounting tread) in order to achieve optimal wear performance and durability.  Attaching the Nosing and Plank can require the use of bar clamps (to a straight edge clamping surface) in order to hold the Nosing in position when aligning the joint mechanisms of the Nosing and the Plank.  It is highly recommended that this joint be fused with CA glue for ease of templating and handling during installation.  Again, IF YOU (OR YOUR INSTALLER) ARE UNCOMFORTABLE PERFORMING THIS STEP IT IS RECOMMENDED TO ORDER THESE FULL TREADS INSTEAD OF JUST THE NOSING.  Many plank types have weak or ineffective joint mechanisms.  Planks of this type will require this step.  For planks with a more robust mechanism (click joint) the use of tape may be sufficient.
